Bernard Cornwell is a massive influence on me as a writer and his Sharpe series is my favourite.

As Sharpe retires my MC Roland is just about to enter the fray. A Bastard’s Bosworth coming this December!

A great walk up the hill yesterday being buffeted and battered by the wind. We made it to the top! Hope to do another route today.

The last harvest from the children’s mad bed. They sowed whatever they wanted however they wanted. Carrots and beetroot’s all jumbled together. Marvelous.

I’m TJ, I write historical fiction with blades and blood and I also write fantasy with Pegasus and teacups.

I’m also a musician, D&D DM and cook but there are only so many things that fit on the page!

Sir John Cheyne aka “The Vigourous Knight” protected Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth by placing his body between Richard III’s lance and Henry.

Historian’s whose work you’d be lost without…

Oh so many! And this is just a handful. Bosworth by Chris Skidmore was excellent as was Foard and Curry’s Battlefield rediscovered. Both gave me a wonderful grounding in our current understanding of events on the day Henry became king.

I garden as well as write and today, when clearing a path of weeds and detritus, I discovered this beautiful primrose. Gardening is a lot like writing, just like self seeding flowers, the most beautiful ideas can appear in unexpected places. 📚📝
