To me, the central feature of being Gen X is that our parents prepared us for their own Steady Job=Prosperity world, but Reagan was dismantling it while we were too young to know. Millenials/Gen Z aren't lazy; they just never had that illusion and so act accordingly.

Very true. Of course, not interrupting and pressing him to name names - "Just to go on record, you're calling George W. Bush dumb, is that right?" - is a good example of the continued meekness of American journalism just at the time it is most crucial it find some semblance of a spine.

True. But if he doesn’t go after everybody at once, he doesn’t get the headlines in the US media. What he wants is the shock and the Show.
