Fair. Looking at its core, one shot just means something you do once. Considering folks have their own spins on it, best bet is to not wholly rely on it as a strict measurement of time, and just be up front as possible about how long you expect a game might run. 🙂

When you think about the phrase “I’ll give it a shot,” it really just means you’re willing to try something, not necessarily within a set time frame. But yes, in a hobby where labels are both frowned upon and expected, there’s never an exact answer to these questions…except how to pronounce zine. 😜
