As Homer would remind us: 8th worst start to a year in history... so far.

Translation: My portfolio looks fine. Why's everyone whining?

Nearly 90% of the House is considered a "Safe" district at this point and we can do better. 50 States. 50 Races. We take back the House through the only wedge they left for real democracy.

This is me. Shooting my shot. We need a leader and I think you're it!

Make a commitment to staying in the House and leading a small group of like minded individuals and we'll laser focus on the 40 or so districts that are actually competitive after decades of increasingly safe gerrymandered districts for both parties.

I think there is a path for 20-30 Independents to band together as "The House Party" and force the legislation there to come through what the actual voters in their districts are demanding. Real worker focused reforms.

AOC, Do you feel the DNC currently supports your vision for our future? I notice you with Bernie a lot and your pro-worker bona fides are legit.

That's to say, from where I view what you're working towards, they're a bit to corporate friendly to get where we need to go.

Really could have used that corner of the electorate in 2024, but apparently it was just too much for a large portion of our friends and neighbors to get out and vote.

Apathy is a democracy killer and here's hoping the damn holds til 2026 and that drive to the polls doesn't seem so daunting.

Yeah.. they've pissed off the one block of single issue voters they don't actively court.

Above the median to upper middle class people who only vote when their wallet hurts a little.

They won't show up for workers rights, healthcare or anything else, but just can't stomach a recession.

Interestingly, Musk's companies combined have received over $38 Billion in federal money over the years and he recently leveraged his wealth to purchase Twitter/X.

Sounds like Twitter/X is the Tax Payer Funded Arm of the RNC.

It speeds up the erosion of what little wealth the working class has accumulated into the hands of the very few at the top of the chain.

It's looking pretty efficient accepting the purpose of a system is what it does.

Too busy purging the SSN Numbistat records and going after state voter role access.

The rush to accomplish those two tasks isn't the crime, it's the cover up.

Drawing a line in the sand and saying to Amazon, Walmart, etc "If you want to do business with the American people and enjoy the safety and stability provided by our government, you're going to share the gains all the way down to the lowest employee.
March 25, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Essentially, we need the federal government to shift the primary focus from protecting us from other countries into being the collective voice of the electorate against the massive corporations that are now larger than many nation-states.
March 25, 2025 at 5:13 PM
So many other needs, but those are where I'd start.

America doesn't have a revenue problem, it's a spending and distribution problem. Out-sized expenses on defense etc and too many of the gains being accumulated by too few. "More taxes" in a vacuum doesn't really get to the problem.

2. Force Mark to Market accounting on all investment portfolios over $10M (or some other amount that avoids 99% of retail investors and retirement accounts).

We already require market makers and other HNW individuals to play by these rules, it's time to expand it to include people like Bezos/Musk

1. A national living wage standard based on published GS rates. We already know how to adjust pay for postal employees, federal civil servants and members of the military down to the zip code. Complaining that a federal minimum wage is too hard to figure out is noise.
