For over a year, I've been on the @apalaweb.org committee for the Asian/Pacific American Awards for Literature (YA category). It was a huge honor to be part of this award committee and it meant a lot to me as a biracial second-generation Asian American. 🇵🇭🇺🇸
Thank you @apalaweb.org!

I love this PB! The Truth About Dragons makes my biracial Asian American heart sing. The beautiful, detailed artwork takes me to the places in the story and makes me feel cozy. I would give this to my own children, if I had any. For now, I'll keep it for my inner child. It's one of her favorites. 📚👍🏼

Donating "Jalal and the Lake" to Molly Moon's Social Justice Children's Book Drive! In this bilingual (English, Maranao) Filipino-Muslim fairytale, Jalal lives in the Philippine province of Southern Mindanao. He allows a cherished lake to be filled with trash before realizing the need to restore it.

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to "Using Literature to Support Children's Mental Health," edited by Kim Becnel and Robin A. Moeller (2025). I co-authored the second chapter with my colleague, Xuejiao Li.

Other than acquiring a pumpkin spice latte, how much cozier can I get with my Thanksgiving reading than "The Fall of Whit Rivera" by Crystal Maldonado? 🧡🍂
I have severe ADHD-primarily inattentive type. Sometimes even the things I know I love can't hold my attention. This book is engaging so far. 📚👍🏼

Bummed about missing the NCTE conference and ALAN Workshop, but I'm happy I got to go to the YALSA Symposium in St. Louis! I organized a panel discussion and was on the panel with an amazing group. 🤩

Upping my comfort game by wearing my new fuzzy onesie while working on my first crochet project (a fuzzy blanket) in a reclining couch. 😌

My purple princess dreams are coming true! 💜

Also, I think I found my new favorite way to relax: Crochet while listening to music or an audiobook.

I read A Very Asian Guide to Filipino Food (2023) on Kindle, but I want a print copy now as well! The vibrant illustrations of Filipino foods are so fun, beautiful, and engaging. My faves are lumpia, adobo, ube, and lechon! Yum, yum! My compliments to Amira Humes! 📚👍🏼

Can I tell you a secret? In the midst of Syrian civil war, 2 cousins started a library in Damascus. For their community, they provided a place to be w/access to books & knowledge. Nour’s Secret Library (2022) is a descriptive PB w/great imagery and lots of text and back info for more learning. 📚👍🏼

My dear friend, Damon, has had a really hard time, especially in the last couple of years. If anyone is able to help him out, I know he will appreciate it so much. ❤️‍🩹
His story is on his GoFundMe page.
Thank you, everyone!
