I really did not have any intent of riding out this series of movies, but I liked the first one and had enough fun with the second one so I took the evening off on Thursday after class and was glad I did because this was fun. I really liked Rosamund Pike with a South African accent.

Number 22 at this year's BIFAN was U are the Universe, kind of a sweet Ukrainian movie about the end of the world and the last man in the universe and the things that really matter.

Former student Shin Dayun showed up on Friday to catch up and talk about how things are going and she brought these nice pastries.

My day 6 at BIFAN 2025 started off with a bang with a new US psychological horror drama, Bone Lake, my 21st movie this festival. My seat was too close to the screen and my eyes are still adjusting back as I have Iunch, but otherwise it was a solid and intense horror experience.

I wrote Senator Ricketts to ask when there would be Congressional oversight regarding the destruction of the East Wing of the White House during a government shutdown to make way for a ballroom larger than the White House being funded by large private donors.

Here is my ticket for the remarkable F1, which I saw this summer and is still playing in the theaters. It is well done and a lot of fun, even for someone like me who is no fan of racing. Brad Pitt plays a man getting older and wiser trying both to live in and give back to the world.

I was skeptical with my friends posting 4.5-5 star reviews for a long movie but everything felt essential to the point it was hard to choose a time to run to the bathroom. I had to pay more for the reclining seats but for an early show so it was like the normal price. Sean Penn may win awards.

Heavens: A Boy and His Robot was my 20th BIFAN 2025 film. It is a Singaporean sci-fi movie that took more than a decade to pull together. It finished off my fifth day at BIFAN.

Jurassic World Rebirth. You could feel some of the lesser budget, but the script is by David Koepp and you can feel it. Director Gareth Edwards demonstrates some of the empty abandoned horror that made Monsters so interesting and he also shows the same sort of meticulousness as in Rogue One.

Welcome Home Baby, an Austrian-German horror movie, was my #19 at BIFAN 2025. It was indeed scary but also left me unsure as to what exactly happened.

My fifth day at BIFAN 2025 started out strong with Lee Byunghun in Bungee Jumping, which I have not seen in a couple decades, as my 18th movie. While I recall it as good, I was not prepared to tear up at the end.
