They were trying to block the vote that will expose what Trump’s DOJ buried. They panicked. The members didn’t fold. And now the files are coming.

Massie just dropped a bomb:
He says the White House directly pressured GOP holdouts, Boebert, Mace, MTG, to abandon the Epstein files petition, telling one of them, “We can’t let Massie have a win.” They weren’t trying to protect “process.”

To paraphrase (my apologies if I get it wrong) Eric Rauchway, "I think I can speak for the Great Depression historians out there, you do not want our expertise to be relevant again". This is the 90th anniversary of the WPA (I am a WPA historian). @rauchway.bsky.social

FLAG: Trump says he might declare a national emergency to keep National Guard troops in D.C.

"If I have a national emergency, I can keep the troops there as long as I want."

Breaking from the Office of Pres. Obama:

"Our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.

Sick and tired of Republican Senators coming to me privately saying, “Mark, keep speaking up, you’re our conscience.”

I don’t want to be their damn conscience.

I want them to vote their conscience.

In 1939, when Sec. of Labor Frances Perkins pushed back on pressure to ideologically deport Australian-born labor leader Harry Bridges, she faced impeachment by Congress.

Perkins insisted on upholding the rule of law & ensuring it was appropriately applied to Bridges.🗃️
