Pasta in a short period of time before they would have a glyphosate toxicity. So when you say "you could never drink enough coffee to reach a lethal dose of caffeine", well, you could never eat enough pasta to reach a lethal dose of glyphosate.

0.001 mg/kg. The amount of glyphosate in pasta, for example, can range from 60-150 ppb, or 0.06-0.15 mg/kg (kg refers to portion/serving size). In a 2 oz serving of pasta, this is 0.003-0.009 mg of glyphosate. At an LD50 of 5,600 mg/kg, a 150lb(68.16kg) person would need to eat nearly 18,000 lbs of

Glyphosate. The LD50 of glyphosate, per the University of Maryland Extension Agriculture and Food Systems, is 5,600 mg per kilogram of body weight. The amount of glyphosate residue in foods can vary depending on the food but it's usually measured in Parts Per Billion (ppb) which equates to

8 oz cup of coffee has 95 mg of caffeine, so you'd need to drink 1,278 cups of coffee to reach a lethal dose of caffeine. This is why cases of caffeine toxicity usually involve caffeine powders/supplements, as they are more concentrated and contain more caffeine (in mg). Now, let's compare this to
December 10, 2024 at 2:36 AM
The lethal dose (LD50) of caffeine is in milligrams per kilogram of body weight. For those who don't know how to calculate your weight in kg, divide your weight in lb by 2.2 (ex. 150 lbs ÷ 2.2 = 68.18 kg). So a 150lb person would need to consume 10,227 mg of caffeine for a lethal dose. The average

And glyphosate. The LD50 of caffeine is 150mg/kg, and people were commenting "I would need to drink over 1,000 cups of coffee before I hit the lethal dose! That would never happen!" This statement, believe it or not, is the point she was trying to make (enter surprise) and I want to break this down

increasing our manufacturing, but we need to incentivize companies, not hurt consumers.

If the company can simply pass along the cost and not change their current method, why would they bother manufacturing domestically. Especially if they can increase their profit margin and simply blame it on "Tariffs", the way they've been doing with inflation. I'm not saying we shouldn't be

c) Tariffs are a tax that companies pay on imported products. So if a company now has to pay a 25-30% tax on the shirts their importing, they will simply pass the higher cost onto the consumer: you. Where is the incentive to increase domestic manufacturing? Some will say "to avoid the tariffs".

In some (certainly not all) cases, foreign-made products come with a lower price tag, which is the affordable option for many people. The menswear guy did a great thread about how even US-made clothes use imported materials, which means even some USA-made products will be affected by the tariffs.

b) Cant you just buy an American brand? Of course! But for some people, who may have sensitive skin or other derm issues, they may have trouble finding a comparable American-made product. Need specific footwear for your profession? Options may be limited if you're looking to buy American.

multitude of "Made in USA" items. But what's on the other tags? How many skin care products, cleaning products, or even clothing is made elsewhere? These are all items that will be affected by tariffs. Your favorite shoes, cleaning products, and shampoos will now cost more. Which leads to...

They hate Obamacare, they just don't realize that Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing. But boy, are they about to find out.
