Mostly for following and commenting on friends' posts. Probably for sharing the odd quote, link, piece of music or whatever else catches my attention.
It sounds quite close to "chief edibles officer".

On a related note: it seems facebook's "chief wearables officer" is genuinely called Rocco Basilico.

Before too long those children's stories featuring menacing anthropomorphic vegetables are going to be viewed like The Terminator. TBH, The Matrix might well be run by superintelligent potatoes getting their revenge for humans using them as batteries.

Ahh the nostalgic days when you could just wander onto an airfield for a gunfight.

I'm considering getting a copy of Garry's Mod for facial verification. Cheaper than a VPN (or Death Stranding 2).

Put it this way, I've yet to run out of battery.

I have a kobo clara. It's fine. I'd probably prefer a slightly larger screen, but on the plus side it does fit in my back pocket. A few other minor annoyances, particularly drag-highlighting, but generally it does the job.

The character is Russian and jealous of the US' achievements in space, so it could be "infamous" in the sense that it stirs up these negative feelings for him and people he knows.

I've been trying to figure out if there's some subtle distinction, because it's a booker prize winning novel, so you'd expect the word choice to be deliberate.

"He dreamed – of all things, of all damned American things – the infamous image taken by Michael Collins during the first successful moon mission, back in 1969: the photograph of the lunar module leaving the moon’s surface, and of the earth beyond."

I was thinking earlier about how using "infamous" in place of "famous" started as a jokey thing but has now started seriously taking over. I saw this in an actual novel today:

bsky film club! I'm trying to catch up on some things I've been meaning to watch for a while.

I think there's less social uncomfortableness than you might expect in the film. I've a low tolerance for it myself. There's a lot that's somewhere between obsessive behaviour and a kind of transgressive jouissance.

I watched Hoard, a 2022 film about a teenager whose mother was an obsessive hoarder. It was good, though some elements of it didn't quite connect for me for some reason.

This evening I made a kimchi pancake and I watched a film.

Yeah, there are probably a few politicians who might benefit from it. Perhaps particularly in the US, having to navigate insurance (or Medicaid in this case).
