Oh goody. A snow day for kids on the would have been first day back from two weeks of winter break.

Didn’t want to try to do my job anyways. 🥴

Sometimes I think my wife is just trolling me with the way she loads the dishwasher.

Is anybody else the very particular dishwasher loader?

Admittedly, I’m also not the one who deals with it the most, so I shouldn’t complain. But I will!

Here’s one I don’t have a thought out POV on yet (I’m just doing my best).

How are you approaching raising your kids in the midst of (*gestures wildly*) all of this.

Your kids don’t deserve to lose the joy of childhood or have to worry about this stuff. But how can you avoid it sometimes?

What does gentle parenting mean to you?

Do you subscribe to it? Hate it? What benefits or negatives do you see from it in your family?

What is your approach to screen time?

Do you limit it? Embrace it? Does it depend on the device? The content? Your kids age?

As I prepare for launching an actual blog, there’s a lot of topics I plan to share my POV and experience on. But in the meantime, I’d love to hear from others. So going to post about a few of them.

I know it’s a bit early, but if you celebrate Xmas and need a great seasonal movie for young kiddos, Mickey Saves Christmas (Disney+) is wonderful.

It’s only TV episode length (23 mins), a good story, and wonderful stop motion animation ala Rudolph.

Highly recommend.

Here's an apt one for the moment. Veterans Day concert at the elementary school honoring veterans who are family of the students or in the community. They actually attend. Very beautiful. Really appreciate the kids celebrating them.

But the patriotic messages — thru the lens of today — it's hard.

So I mentioned we have dogs, but the truth at the moment is we just have a single pup. We lost our sweet 12-year old pup suddenly a week ago.

For my wife and I, it was devastating. She’d been with us most of our relationship. But navigating that grief with our young kids has been quite interesting.

Little about me — though I don’t want this project to be all about me.

I’m a married Midwest dad to three little ones ranging from 2–7. Couple boys and a little girl. My oldest has level I autism.

I love sports and my favorite teams but care about them a lot less than before kids.

Soft launch, as the website and overall vision is a bit of a ways off, but in the near future, I’ll be launching a blog, perhaps a podcast, and hopefully some localized groups for #dads. We’re all so tired, but those kiddos instantly give us much in common. Want to make connections near and far.
