I tell people I’ve never feared for my life in a Waymo, but I cannot say the same for Lyft or Uber. Waymo are slow and careful drivers, but if you need to get somewhere fast, roll the drive for a potentially dangerous but speedy human driver.

That is so fucking bleak.

Good news today, but I worry that Thomas and Alito just wanted a case that was more tailored to their desires. IIRC there’s one they cultivated out of Texas making its way through the courts.

I'm not in the know enough to most of those, but I love everything Lina Khan was doing in the Biden admin.

They should do it. The private jet class will lose their minds and bribe Trump to force the Rs to cave.

Oh no!

OK, I was going to be extremely sad, but it looks like they're taking it around the world. I am sad for NYC but happy others around the world will get to see it.

Have you seen Titanique?

I'm going to be very disappointing if some enterprising designer doesn't buy a bunch of Steve Jobs coins and throw them at people they disagree with in design meetings.

Yeah. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get my heavy metal blood work done, and I suspect either way its worth phasing it out of my diet for something less processed. I have 2-3 bags still at home and I haven't decided if I should just toss them or not.

I am definitely going to include a heavy metals test in my physical next month, but I’m less immediately freaked out now than I was earlier.

I spiraled a bit on this today. Its still not great but the level of concern was the very conservative level for pregnant women. A single serving meal is below what Europe has set for safety standards. We in the US don’t regulate supplements so have no safety standards.

Well shit. Excited to find out I've been putting heavy metal in my body for the last 5 years.

Congrats! Glad Zep is working so well for you.

It really is almost like magic. IMO the real good stuff is in the blood work. If your lipid or blood sugar numbers were at all high then you're in for a treat next time you get it checked.

Sure but we celebrate a lot of stuff with no direct American connection. Most of the religious holidays have no connection to America as a country. Why shouldn’t we have a day to celebrate one of the greatest scientific and philosophical minds of history too?
October 13, 2025 at 3:11 PM
Double standard!

St. Patrick never stepped foot on US soil and the Internet says he hated American football. We still celebrate him with parades and lots of drinking.

How has no one suggested Galileo Galilei yet?

He’s one of the most prolific scientific and cultural figures in the western world.
