After some pondering, I decided to make a human that will also have mysteriously entered the Realm of the Unwanted. Meet Leyta, a soul maiden.

Leyta, a Soul Maiden Leyta is a young woman who has lived at the start of her adult life as a soul maiden. This task was given to her by a mysterious man who was well acquainted with her parents. Her main job is to be a beacon for souls that have lost their way towards the afterlife in her realm. Along a dark path, in an event where the Unwanted Realm was free of its divine barrier, it had strangely took Leyta through a portal. Even with this cursed realm free, getting out is no small feat. Leyta now will have to wander through this strange place, helping those in need, and surviving against many a foul beast and wicked residents. Leyta herself is an honest soul, with a sense of duty to those in need and the dead. She has a pair of gauntlets with retractable wrist blades that she claims hardly are her expertise. One wonders why a guide for souls would ever need to be armed with a frankly grisly weapon. Aside from those, she also has a lantern that glows a magenta light. This trinket is what allowed her to help guide spirits to her so she could fulfill their last request or to merely light a path to their final resting place. Leyta, with white hair, and magenta eyes, blades ready and in a running pose. When an evil presence attempts to kill her or another person in her presence, Leyta’s wrist blades come out of her gauntlet and her hair and eyes change. Her demeanor changes as well, from a warm welcoming face to a cold and stoic expression. The blades she claimed to be unfamiliar with are suddenly used gracefully and with cold ferocity. The origins of this change is unknown, even to Leyta herself. In fact, after a fight, Leyta will walk away from the scene and moments later, will be unaware of the event and her hair and eye color will shift back to brown. She will simply say she was just walking down a trail the whole time. Maybe there is more to her life story than what was presented.

Two notable Corticans roaming around have actually left their faith and pursue very different life styles.
-One is Kordura, an apostle to some higher power he heard whispering to him.
-The other is Vanzephur. Servant to Lady Amaliziel.

“I heard a voice that promised warmth, I’m certain that it will grant me true promise than remaining here casting empty prayers!” -Kordura, before storming off and leaving the Monastery. Kordura is a very rare case of a Cortican who has been disillusioned of his faith after being casted into the Realm of the Unwanted. He is one of the few that decided to leave everything behind. This wouldn’t be an issue with anyone, but when he mentioned of whispers from a higher power, it was during the Realm’s one way barrier around it beginning to fall apart. Just what entity has taken interest? Some sketches of Kordura’s key designs, a barbed whip, his robes of an upside down phoenix, with tattered feathers, his hand with scars and a crown. “May you please make haste, m’lady is a fair soul, but I hate to keep her waiting.” Vanzephur, asking you not to keep him waiting. -Vanzephur is a Cortican that left the church not for anything more than to seek a new life style. He would fine himself serving a woman only known as Lady Amaliziel. Though he speaks of his master highly, he talks to others with a layer of contempt and makes biting remarks under his breath at everyone he views as wasting his time. To what extent he owes to the Lady that he serves, that’s only for him to share. He roams town to town, fetching trinkets, decor, and food to the large castle of Lady Amaliziel, a castle located where the undead unwanted congregate towards. Sketches of Vanzephur’s trinkets including a pocket watch, and knife. The emblem on his cloak is laid out, it is two bat wings with what appears to be rose petals and thorny roots around them.

In the Realm of the Unwanted, many of things were casted out by divine beings for many a reason. The broadest one and the most scrutinizing is the sin of existence. The Corticans are a meek race casted from their home realm by their neighbors and their god.

“Hello visitor, care to share a prayer with me?” - Demulsung -The Corticans are bird folk who follow a monotheistic culture. They worship, ‘The Ebon Lord of Twilight,’ supposedly an envoy from the heavens to bring all to paradise. Curiously, the Corticans don’t preach to others of their faith and keep to their kin, but the more curious and friendlier neighbors are welcomed warmly and are granted a chance to learn of their teachings. -Not much is known of their life from their original realm, those that asked are met with silence and eyes fighting to hold tears. It is theorized their odd appearance, with their permanent agape mouth and extra eyes, may have marked them as demons by their previous neighbors. For in this realm, not all souls here were just savage monsters or wicked beings so foul that no afterlife would claim them. Some were put here out of callous judgement by a higher being, justified or not. -They are found in cities and other settlements that are well guarded from less savory characters and monsters for that matter. They rarely ever leave their monasteries and are usually in their main halls praying, singing hymns and even when walking outside, are always diligently praying. Some sketches during the creative process. During the process, I wanted the head design to be something more unique and odd, so I thought, “what if you saw them from a far and thought oh they must have bird shaped cowls, but when you get closer, you see the cowls are their heads and even crazier, they talk normally despite having their mouths open, never moving.” So then I got drawing and honestly the backstory and justification of them being in the Realm in the Unwanted was an exercise of character design, especially cause I haven’t written this down until now, though I rehearsed it mentally to be able to post this.

Finally sketched out a monster design to add more to my idea of a realm where outcasts and monsters are thrown into. This mysterious creature is however maybe a native species since the realm’s inception. Let’s simply call it Qrylastul or the Reconstitutor #Tiptop’s_Arts #Sketch
A Qrylastul rises from the earth, having been intruded upon from its slumber. This nomadic apex creature has no qualms attacking anything it sees in its surroundings. Sketched ideas for general shape and alternate head designs. It led me to having an idea on making it interesting and scary. Top left shows it’s just a crystal that moves smaller shards to create a body. Whatever has bested the creature without destroying its core,(its ‘eye’) it will telepathically examine and begin shaping itself as its competitor. It will mimic its moves and even improve upon them. No one has seen these creatures mimic anything smarter than savage beasts, but all know that would be a terrible prospect to see if it mimics something far smarter.
