If we’re talking about pure memecoins I’m fully with you.

The sec wasn’t sure which was which, so chose to sue the biggest companies hoping the courts would tell them.

There’s a disconnect without proper definitions. The players (crypto cos, courts, sec) don’t know who decided.

Legitimate companies who want to play by the rules need to know the rules.

It’s more similar to investing in a start up than gambling. There is a gamble but the odds can be in your favor.

The primary complaint centered around the Howey Test — the legal standard for determining whether an asset is a security.

Many crypto currencies appear to be securities. (1/2)

Most new crypto people weren’t buying bitcoin to get rich — they already felt like they missed it. They bought smaller projects hoping for an exponential gain and then saw the sec make it harder for their projects to succeed. That’s the narrative they believe.

Part of the problem is the word “crypto” is broad enough to encompass everything legitimate as well as the worst scams. People hear what they want and then argue from that perspective. There are some genuinely good investments w use cases and some pure ponzi vapor.

The people who don’t accept it don’t. The people who do do. The latter is growing. “A lot” is relative and does not mean “all”. It’s a network with network effects. I happen to know “a lot” that do.

You can use it on the regular normal colored market. A lot of people accept it as payment/having value and you can log payments when you do your taxes

You’re right on this Mark. Dems ignore crypto voters at their own peril.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are decentralized on a global level with known supplies into the future. If inflation goes up when governments change the supply of their currency it can be a safe haven. Has happened more in South American countries but US dollar could not always be king.

More true is

Bitcoin- giant memecoin without rug built in

Doge- same

Ethereum- decentralized internet, which will come in handy vs authoritarian govs

Solana- faster and less decentralized internet controlled by VCs

Trump/melania- trash memecoin w rugs built in

Nfts- it’s complicated

The preselected friendly audience is the most confusing part to me. Guy is always in a red bubble make him answer to diverse Americans.
