hot take but poor people are allowed to have feelings about the "handouts" (gross word ugh) they're given. anything but unending smiles is seen as ungrateful and i hate it, i spend too much energy trying not to sound ungrateful for services i depend on while daring to critique them

just reading this makes me angry. not only for stupid gender bullshit reasons, but because needing the program probably means they don't have a lot, so getting a gift you didn't ask for is even more soul-crushing. people are allowed to be upset by that, goddamn
