It is pouring buckets this morning. I'm headed out to feed the ferals in my hooded fleece union suit jammies, wellies, and my gardening hat to keep the rain off my glasses lol. I started my day off stylishly lmao. How's everyone else doing this morning?

Today I got out in the yard to haul rocks. Also found a 10' length of PVC in the woods. I'll use the rocks to ring the newest greens bed. The PVC I'll make half hoops to use net to prevent bugs from decimating my green babies. Or cold covers. Or both lol. Either way a productive day!

Today I got out in the yard to play. I hauled 4 loads of rock in the wheelbarrow up our hill from the woods. I still need to haul 3-4 loads more for the front area where I want to expand my greens' beds. And I'll need 2-3 loads more for the backyard where we've expanded & added beds.

Ah, finally at the satisfying Nazi melting scene. After today this movie felt like a requirement. It's not every day you see a full Nazi salute, done twice, & then apologized away in a lie while modern Nazis march through capital, & insurrectionists get pardoned by the leader of The Pork Reich.

I figured The Sound of Music would be my 2nd cinematic choice of the day. (I started with The Day After Tomorrow lol) With the yarn to keep my hands busy, and to keep my mind off the Pork Reich being sworn in, I figured I'd watch a musical about love winning out over hatred and Nazis.

There's 2 yellow topped totes now. We call them In-Purr-Ness Castle, Edin-Purr Castle, & Dun-Purr-mline Abbey. If you can't tell, we enjoyed our Scotland stays with friends lol.

Some ice skating while feeding the ferals this morning. The orange I call Reggie is getting more friendly. Roquefort, the tabby, not so much. Our shelter will only take in friendly cats to re-home. Reggie is almost there. He's still scared of men. But I'm keeping them fed & have shelters for them.

Some pictures of our ice accumulation. The snow was trace amounts, the ice was more significant. While it makes the world pretty it also makes it dangerous. We have enough supplies for a few days, always, being rural. Never know when storms or something will block roads.

Found this recipe to use up some of the lemon curd surplus I have. My daughter brought home over 2doz lemons a couple months ago. I had 3 pints of curd, 2 quarts of quartered brined lemons (w/ bay leaves & peppercorns). I dehydrated some grated rind, too.

Frozen mornings make for great puppy cuddles. It's 30°F out, everything is under a sheet of ice, but I have 60lbs of fuzzy love to cuddle me.

South Carolina is in shock. We got snow. Enough to actually see, and that stuck to the ground instead of melting. We used to get snows every year when I moved here in '89. Somewhere around the early 00s it changed. Less frequent, smaller amounts, years without any.

When your 8mo puppy is mad because she thinks she's dropped her chew stick and is sulking.
If you look at the buckle on the seat it actually just got stuck there lol. But she's big mad I won't stop to get it for her. 🤣
