Small batch ceramics made with love
Potter and graphic designer based in Bavaria
I have a soft spot for long ceramic plates – I love their clean lines and stretched-out proportions.
My small kiln limits the size, but maybe that’s what makes them so practical for daily use.
And while I love throwing on the wheel, carving textures is just as satisfying #pottery #handmadeplates

Sometimes, saggar firing feels like painting on clay—unpredictable and expressive. Now, with Easter just around the corner, I’m dreaming of a whole Easter bouquet filled with saggar-fired eggs.

Teabowl with a delicate pinkish streak … accidental chemistry experiment - always double-check the ingredients 🙃

Loving how this glaze turned out! The cool, slightly grayish white looks stunning on buff clay, letting the speckles show through beautifully. On white clay, it’s more even and softly creamy. Matte but silky to the touch – couldn’t be happier with the result!

Glaze tests are leveling up! 🎨 The kiln’s firing, and I can’t wait to see the results. I’m obsessed with these tiny glaze beads – they look like little jewels! ✨ Too bad they have to be wiped away… beauty really is fleeting!

Glaze crazy - Any math experts here? Just a quick question: If I want to test at least 4 different glazes with volumetric blending and 20 different colorants—how many test tiles do I need? Asking for a friend…

I just have to share this, even if the photo isn’t great. Same glazes, same clay body—only 3% titanium dioxide differs. Left is without, right with.
I expected slight brightening but not this intensity! It’s fascinating—and frustrating—how a small tweak changes the look.

Oh, there’s always room for one or two little test tiles!

Still not quite there with my glaze tests, but getting closer! Same base glaze, tweaked with and without colorants or titanium dioxide. With colorants, it’s too matte and has tiny flaws. With titanium dioxide, it’s almost too glossy.
On to the next round!

A sunny Sunday morning—technically, I should be cleaning, organizing, and sorting my studio. But instead, here I am, sitting with a coffee, soaking up the sunshine and the inspiring smell of clay dust.

I usually prefer matte glazes, but I think it would be so exciting to see this one on that piece—it could look amazing!

Saggarfire in my little electric kiln

This piece was fired using the Saggar-Fire technique, creating striking black and white tones. I love how nature can produce such bold, pure contrasts, just as much as I appreciate the earthy tones.

I’ve officially fallen down the glaze testing rabbit hole, and there’s no way out! It’s like being swallowed whole—with no time, no sanity, and still 5,346,892 glazes left that I have to test. Will I ever finish? Probably not. But hey, who needs free time anyway?
