Posted a letter in Muswell Hill in 1999 vaguely aware of a man being berated by a red haired woman behind me. He posted a letter straight after me and out of the corner of my eye realised it was Neil Hannon of @divinecomedyhq.bsky.social (personal hero of mine)

Worked at a startup on my OE in London 1999 in customer service, saw a Mac G4 come into the office for the graphic designer and wanted to do that. Then saw what the html coder did and wanted to do that too. Taught myself how to make a Flash based site with something called Swift and went from there…

Yeah but then you’re literally looking at a car twice the cost or more than a 2018 Leaf which you can get under 20k and they’re just really good cars. Been to Wellington and back in ours and only have a 3pin charger at home.

Same argument could be made for the rest of Auckland and the second generation Leaf I reckon

Is this government entirely made up of psychopaths? I honestly can’t believe anyone with children or who share’s some form of empathy for their fellow humans could support this. Will any of the 68 MPs in this unholy coalition stand against this bullshit?

I know in Australia they had huge incentives a few years ago with nice buy back rates but pulled them after they had good take up. Much like the Clean Car Rebate. Probably depends on the government of the time. No idea whether they regulate quality of install or fairness of finance though.

Oh god American capitalism sucks! I’m reading a novel by Cory Doctorow at the moment which is actually quite hopeful about the future. We had solar installed 2years ago. Used Kiwibank’s sustainably loan as the pay you back 2k over 4 years. Glad NZ regulates the market.
