Gay daughter of a Kansas plowboy and a Wyoming cowgirl. Now living in a solidly Blue state.
Where I grew up in Eastern Kansas, we called this “dooring”. Usually used against dogs that snapped at the tires of your car as you drove by.

I am inspired by your efforts in support of Democrats in MO. I will financially support them. I am a Kansas native. KS came in as a free state while MO did all they could to thwart that. Quantrill and John Brown are part of our shared history. I hope I am better than either of them. I know you are.
The Confederates always used "state's rights" when it was convenient and the feds to control the states when it wasn't.

We are still fighting the confederates...they weren't punished well enough and they never went away.

Wow. Bravery and poise.
In a world full of Donald Trumps, Pete Hegeseths and Stephen Millers, be an Iesha Evans.

I have a daughter, son-in-law and two small granddaughters living just a few miles from that town. Not Trump voters. I ask everyone to please consider the real people behind generalizations. Thank you.
The majority of the people in Kentucky voted for Trump because they thought he was going the screw over "those people" not them. Surprise!

I am not going to criticize any of them for being overweight. I am much more concerned about their racism and antisemitism.

When will he run out of Fox Entertainment personnel? His draft pool is ridiculously small.

I am not sure he ever progressed past that age.
Just making shit up as he goes. I swear he's reverted to his 6 year old self.

So, first Sister Wives, and now Poly Family. And perhaps many more alternative family groups that I will never expect to care about. But, apparently enough American viewers do. But Mayor Pete, his husband and their two kids are somehow the family so many folks rail against as unnatural and immoral.

My mistake. Sorry. It is Xfinity, not Verizon, for the ads I find offensive. My cable provider is Xfinity (Comcast in my region) and I stand by original post about their ads.
May 1, 2025 at 6:34 AM
I have been a longtime Verizon customer. Their recent ads depicting prospectors seeking riches while spouting exaggerated regional dialects offends me. Just stop, Verizon.

I also hear white, northern folks, pretend to affect southern accents. Just fucking stop with that shit too.

Thank you for the repost concerning my family member currently serving our country under this current administration. I am now following you.

I am being vague about their role because we share a somewhat recognizable and memorable surname. They are only 24 years old.

I have an active duty family member currently serving under Trump. They did not vote for him. They have expressed their anguish to me at possibly having to make a choice to follow possible illegal commands. My heart breaks for them because they love serving our country.

Nope. Voting for this bill is potentially disenfranchising millions of folks who should be legally, and easily, allowed to vote. I don’t often say this now, because my kids started thinking this was an appropriate response to wayward drivers, but you are a dumbass.
🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

Do you really believe red state leaders won’t use every underhanded tactic they can imagine to disenfranchise their voters with insufficient documentation? Did you happen to take your wife’s last name when you married, if you are married? I bet not. You are fooling yourself.
The bill allows for several different ways to prove citizenship. But most importantly, it requires state leaders to establish protocols to allow citizens to register even if there are discrepancies in documents, such as name changes.

This should not be happening in our country. So many people will be needlessly suffering.
NEWS: The House narrowly voted to approve the GOP budget blueprint by a vote of 216-214, which aims to make massive cuts to Medicaid and give massive tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

I currently cannot join any active protests.

But I do financially support several public radio broadcasters in Oregon. OPB, and KLCC and KRVM, out of Eugene

KRVM broadcasts Indian Time on Thursday nights. Stream it if you are not local. The variety of Native American music is captivating.

Since so many IRS employees are being fired, I assume Mr Trump’s tax returns are no longer under audit. I know he is busy, but I am sure he can find time to release them now. /s

I would give that woman the clothes off my back. I don’t even like cats but am so glad she is doing her best to keep her cat safe and secure.
Catherine and her cat from Zaporizhzhia. She spent 5 hours under the rubble of her house, destroyed by a Russian missile. All this time she has been hugging her cat.

P.S. Sorry she didn't wear a suit.

I apologize. I do know the difference between benefits and entitlements. I am sorry.
Do NOT call these entitlements. That is as insulting as calling older people elderly. Please-- they could've put that $$ in private retirement instead-- the government TOOK THEIR MONEY...
