May you find the freedom and courage to deconstruct your religion, your faith and establish your own solid ground. ❤️❤️❤️

Alot about what to follow nothing bout who to follow apart from Him.

Anyhoo, if you haven't guessed I am deconstructing my faith and it's been quite the adventure. A therapist is a good support system because wueh! Heh! Yah!

The truth remains through time. Jesus is the truth, the way and the life. He said that many will come in his name and even preach another Jesus... But only one Jesus leads to life. And he show us how He is revealed in scripture. He says if you search for Him with all your heart you find find Him.

Which is a royal yucky mess that I'm still trying to wrap my head around. I don't want to throw out the baby w/ the bath water. Discipleship can be beautiful but we must grow in understanding & wisdom from the Word, the Bible. It's a painful process & it helps to journey w/ like minded individuals.

In America, Derek Prince & Bob Mumford, realised their error, turned away from that model & spent their last days trying to undo the mess they'd been part of creating. From what I can gather, the shepherding movement declined but not without producing a baby... The New Apostolic Reformation

Congregants who go to church for social acceptability and have no idea who God is, let alone his ways beyond what is fed to them... Which does not give today and now solutions to their pressing needs. The foundation is off.

See is that a shadow of the same within African Christendom. Where church leaders and authorities live like they are mini gods above what they teach. No wonder then, that the erroneous foundations of this movements are not obvious to the eye... But scratch the surface and see a generation of abused
December 15, 2023 at 7:17 AM
I reckon that it took root well because it's culturally familiar to the African model of community where age and social based hierarchy and unquestioning obedience and submission even to death is a thing. It's the culture that produces a political crop that behave like mini gods... What we refuse to

And today a good number of those leaders are recognised in Kenya as founders of the modern charismatic pentecostal movement in Kenya. They carried on a model that time had proven errant and this model is the foundation of many a charismatic pentecostal community in Kenya today...

Of complicity towards control and manipulation which was one of the things that plagued the shepherding movement in those early days. Now, worth noting is that one of the fort Lauderdale 5, Derek Prince, worked and lived in Kenya for a good enough period of time to raise up leaders in this model

Now in hindsight I can see that this shepherding model of church is what I have been immersed in for a number of years. So no wonder then, interrogating the practices and the culture against the scriptures through extensive deep dives, would land me in such hot soup! Which for me was an indicator

This model hinged heavily on submission to authority and men being men, you can only imagine how that became a means for people to raise fiefdoms of twisted scripture teaching.

In my interrogations.on faith and practice I learnt about a movement forged in fort Lauderdale Florida by 5 men. It was called the shepherding movement. They taught a discipleship model that hinged heavily on what I figure was the delegated authority of men over those they were discipling.

The one I looked up to as a teacher & mentor, turned her back on me, reacting as if I had insulted her challenging her person... That was the last thing on my mind... It was so weird. Lines were crossed & I am 'out in the cold' & quite okay with it. Because what I learnt was worth it

In 2023 I started asking questions loudly and publicly regarding faith, religion and the differences between the Word preached on pulpits and the Word as it is written... The blow back has been amazing and the number of people openly discussing their confusion has been wonderful and worth the blow.

I think that when everything looks like it's falling apart the people needed to create a new order out of the chaos must be builders... And so builders and collapse are like peas in a pod.
