Wicked was wonderful, the mix of Art Nouveau and Art Deco plus the tasteful use of visual effects creates an unique world. In other years, Dune could have been a winner for the mix of brutalist and antiquity design. Nosferatu in its sober palette, perfect epoque design and (2/3)

my favorite category is Production Design, The Brutalist seemed a lock, it was a wonderful labor of love to put modernism on the screen, but they used AI, so it was easy to pick Conclave, because they replicated the Vatican, of other places (1/3)

disclosing I didn’t watch: Wallace &Gromit: vengeance most fowl, Maria, Gladiator II, Black Box Diaries, Soundtrack to a Coup d’ Etat, Six Triple Eight, Elton John: never to late, Alien: Romulus, Better Man, Kingdom on the planet of the apes (my 2024 was rotten personally)

it was a strong year for animation: Memoir of a Snail, Flow and Wild Robot deserved more love, same as September 5, Nickel Boys and Sing Sing.
