It misses many people who would be able to use it as it stands. For eg, many cycle instructors can not use it because they are not PAYE (or, as in my case, subcontracted to an agency). I would want to use it to get an e-bike to extend my commuting range. So £3-4k I guess for decent quality/range.

We had 52 on ours in Stevenage and we have a fantastic cycling network. We were pointing out that the network is only as good as its weakest link.

To be fair, ours is pretty good. But this particular road is a real pain.

Very strong on 20mph zones.

Hertfordshire's 20mph zones programme to be accelerated
The council says the zones are working and it is responding to local demand by creating more.

My post is a "subtle" dig at the local council who upgraded the road without adding any cycle infrastructure, which would have been entirely possible and far more cost effective than adding it later.

I live 10 miles from where I'm working (cycle instructor) this week.

Having to drive because it's unsafe on the shortest route. The cycling route would be 15 hilly roads and bumpy towpath miles.

It's #cycletoschool week😪

There is one of these in Cambridge city centre on a wide railway bridge near the station.

I had one last week, top of long hill. Single track road, 90° blind bend. Overtake... why not?

I wouldn't even ride side by side there!
