Yes what you said... but it would have been ok if some of the other 3 couples had it balanced or some friendship but it felt everything weird and 2 dimensional...

Think that her character is the issue. Either is writing, directing or acting or all three but it feels inconsistent and stiff despite she's told to be rebellious and unconventional.

I agree that the main issue is the writing of tge characters. Ding Yuxis characters is getting more mature after experiences of war later on. I think it's okay he start so boyish to let space for development. And I've seen other noona romances with great chemistry, so i dont think thats the issue. I

I think what's interesting is that when I only watch the look and expressions of DYX at pictures or clips it feels like "Boa... he's so in love..." but the moment you see them together and how she interacts with him it feels all apart.

Somehow the story annoyed me, all couple felt like stagnating at the same time... I cant really connect with character of FL or how actress portrays it... then I got some "it could have a disaster ending"-vibes and thought I'll wait before pushing through any further...

My first impression was too that he didn't recognise... but then I thought perhaps he tried hard to give nothing away to keep it a secret in front of this weird sister of him? It felt like they intentionally left it open for interpretation...
