I genuinely want to understand the ownership aspects of these. If AI works cannot be copyrighted if a human did not make significant contributions to the final creation, is this all technically not protected by IP law? Can others take this and use it?

The alt text is beautiful. Well done!

Absolutely. My client right now is a major retailer that just had a disastrous AI search launch. Instead of getting the message, they're doing the "it's the children who are wrong" take. It's an obsession.

They’re testing the waters. That AI song being at #1 is the infinite money code they’ve been looking for.

I admire your bravery opening this can of worms in your replies 🫡

Shame about the AI generated image here. I guess the theft machine still doesn't understand you read the side with the screen. 😆

Do they even support their desktop downloader software any longer? Last I looked it was a nightmare to even find.

I'm planning my own exit from UX. Part of it is that I want to be more on the product side, as I already have one foot in that world. The other is that pure UX is getting a bit bland, if I'm being quite honest. I was never into the science of it. I'm a builder. That's why I got into dev originally.

And those types of places are usually the worst places to work at. The owners/leaders tend to treat everyone horribly.

What’s wild is photography never came up in the 4 hours of interviews. We talked about e-commerce, SEO, software platforms… it was wild. They handed me giant camera and a photo booth and said “we need these by end of day”. They were baffled when I said I have no idea about this stuff.

I was in UX leadership at one of the largest retailers for years. Things were going great! I finally found a career path that was working. That all went away in January 2023, and I haven’t been able to land a full-time job since.
