Normally drugs go through longer approval process so long term affects are known. Here public were falsely reassured about long term effects when they weren't known

Put it this way, if the risks (as far as they were known) had been clearly articulated certain groups of people would have been able to make a more informed decision. That choice was taken away from them. There has been no accountability and little reflection from this period (eg: BJ "let it rip")
