It blew my mind when I read it written about and compared on RPF years ago. I never knew until then. And it suddenly made so much sense why both lightsabers were my favourite designs. Since they're basically the same version only with small differences.

You really see the similarities between Kenobi's lightsaber and Luke's lightsaber when side by side.
Especially when considering that the classic Kenobi stunt lightsaber from A New Hope is what was repurposed as the new Luke lightsaber in Return of the Jedi.
