As you head South on NC 12, look for a little parking lot (it will be covered in sand) it is the Salt Flats trail, it is worth a stop. If there are mud flats they will be loaded with birds. There is an observation deck along the trail. This pull off is easy to miss, blends in with the dunes

Looked out the kitchen window and spotted a lifer! Sharp-shinned Hawk. Pics taken through my kitchen window. New yard bird as well.🦉

It’s better than the Birdfy feeder camera, it indicates I had 142 species at my feeders, including a Western Screech Owl. It sometimes IDs the same bird as 9 different birds. They have started asking if the id was correct and you can input the correct species.
