I was introduced to Gaslands yesterday, and it was some fast-driving, gun-toting, big asploding fun! As someone who’s not super fond of these types of war games, it was accessible, fast-paced and so, so funny.

I wrote about this a few months ago, but I finally did WildPlay this weekend! It. Was. Awesome. Terrifying, more physical than I expected, but deeply satisfying to do. This was a huge Mounjaro win, and a milestone accomplishment for me.

I’ve been working on this tonight. I am so in love with this animation, I could watch it forever. Tell me that isn’t fucking gorgeous. The way the button colour and shading changes, how the corner animates into a square edge to match the menu… it’s perfection.

I have spent HOURS on what is basically writing copy on how to install QuarterMiSTer. It's a hard problem, inherently complex, but I think I've got the right balance between the bare simplest explanation, with "what's my IP" for people who need it and "Hey, what's all this, then?!" for the paranoid.

Follow these steps to connect your MiSTer:
1. SSH into your MiSTer
Connect to your MiSTer via SSH as root (default password is usually "1" unless you changed it!)
ssh root@your-mister-ip
What is my MiSTer IP?
2. Run the setup command
Once connected, run this command to install QuarterMiSTer:
curl -L [HIDDEN TEXT] | bash
What is that | character after?
3. That's it!
The script will walk you through the setup process. You'll need to enter your QuarterMiSTer email and password

I worked on QuarterMiSTer a bunch this evening, and it's finally starting to look like something I might ship. It's still embryonic, and there's a lot of work to do on the stability of the connection between the MiSTer and QM, but it's super cool to see in action. 🧵

Argh, I love it so much. The new marquee, the Sanwa joystick, the Zaparoo nfc reader inside the cabinet so I just tap a card to select a game, the inline riser… it feels great to play and is gorgeous.
This is all so silly, but I love it. And I haven’t even started gushing about QuarterMiSTer yet!

I've queued up a metric assload of #zaparoo NFC cards, and designed all the stickers that I'm printing this afternoon. I'm pretty proud of the "credit" and "space bar" card designs, I'll show them once I've got them all put together. This is gonna be so fun!

50lbs down in just under 5 months. It kinda crept up on me.
Next time I’m in Niagara, I should be able to do WildPlay, my original 2018 weight loss goal.

They arrived and they’re glorious. A full set will weigh over 1.5lbs, they feel great in the hand, and each have a very distinct finish that’s hard to capture in a photo.

A second test of the packaging for the Mistborn: The Deckbuilding Game metal token upgrade. The finish is now less glossy and doesn’t feel like plastic coating. My wax sealing skills are better, but still need work.

I bought pants with a 4” smaller waist today than I’ve worn for years. Same brand, which has severe vanity sizing in effect, but still a huge victory.
I’m nearly at my chemotherapy weight, but healthy, and I’m below my weight when I was at my fittest, in 2019. 😂

I’ve designed the packaging, arranged for a packaging rig to be printed to make putting this together a lot easier. I just need to take some glamour shots and a short video and it’ll be ready!
