Thanks Dan, really useful info. Bouncy… what do you mean? As for mistakes - that’s ok IMO. Because you can always correct it and ‘next time’ it’ll be better - maybe a little annoying but for us, mistakes are not a bad thing and there to learn from.

In Timbles, the mathematics itself is the game.
The thrill comes from solving puzzles, cracking the challenge, building mastery.
No disguises needed. Every day brings fresh challenges. Every practice becomes a learning opportunity, not an exercise in failure.
Quick to play, surprisingly addictive.

For younger kids, dressing up or singing songs may make maths less scary.
But as they get older? That can feel feel childish.
Learners are ready for a real challenge, one that - like counting sticks - respects their intelligence.
That’s where Timbles comes in.

That’s what makes Timbles formative, not just summative.
It turns mistakes into memory-building moments.
Try it with your class - or for yourself: Use the groups feature to challenge your friends and colleagues.
Child-friendly not childish! (3/3)

Timbles is different.
When a learner gets an answer wrong, they MUST correct it themselves before continuing. And can take as many attempts as they wish.
No skipping. No giving up.
Every error becomes a chance to learn. (2/3)

I know that feeling! Speed or accuracy...

although sometimes I also get a 'block' - For me, 8 x 4 was/is sometimes a blocked fact. Not saying what I often automatically type as then it will be engrained again and I am just getting over it!
