At the end of the day wins are wins and losses even if close are still losses.

Should have always used Azure to begin with.

Also a lot of Democrats opposed the legalization of abortion under Nelson Rockefeller.

Japan actually has quite a few PWR's especially in the southern half of the country.

While stating that he personally will have no involvement in this Frum has also mentioned the relatively ease in smuggling goods into the US in the area around his cottage in Canada the so called Thousand Islands in the St Lawrence River.

People of more modest means can travel to Canada. I do think Mark Carney needs to consider bringing back the GST Visitor rebate as David Frum has suggested. It was abolished because no one was using it and it cost more to run than any benefits it provided but things are different now.

Interestingly I have been hearing that after this summer's heatwave, orders for new AC units are way up in Paris. So whatever the "left" might be saying people are voting with there wallets.
August 13, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Agree with this and will also point that many people on the left perhaps even more on the left than the right have had at least the hidden desire to conquer Canada.

Did Brightline ever sell itself as commuter rail? Anyways the "public service" obligation of its corporate predecessor the Florida East RR was long ago extinguished during the infamous strike of the late 1960s.

My congressman(Moulton) is pretty good on abundance related issues and is very coastal(like lives in walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean) Auchincloss is pretty good as well.
June 27, 2025 at 9:08 PM
More telling is Maura Healey refused to endorse Mamdani and even suggested Eric Adams might still win. Healey has all the power in Boston not Wu.
June 27, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Running against Eric Adams is going to be a completely different type of campaign for Mamdani.
June 25, 2025 at 4:26 AM
But he wants a rent freeze on the entire stock of rent stabilized units whereas rent control is banned in Massachusetts under state law.
June 25, 2025 at 3:05 AM
But he is far to the left of Michelle Wu. I don't want people making that comparison @mclean.bsky.social

**Actually to be more specific Callaway in Missouri and Wolf Creek, Kansas were Sizewell B's reference design and the "newest" Westinghouse 4 Loops in the US>
June 10, 2025 at 3:28 AM
BTW, Sizewell B was probably the most successful Westinghouse 4-Loop design build and took less than half the time Byron did 10 years earlier and was intended to be the start of a series of 4-Loop Westinghouse reactors in the UK.
June 10, 2025 at 3:27 AM
This is a great video below of the construction of Sizewell B in the 90s which was a Byron/Braidwood/Diablo Canyon type design with 90s era control systems. youtu.be/FyRRBP1WqpQ?...

will work out all of the construction challenges of the EPR. (I acknowledge that the EPR is everyone least favorite reactor and I suspect the UK wishes it had gone AP1K)
June 10, 2025 at 3:23 AM
There is a lot not to like about the EPR but the UK already has two under construction with the 2nd showing improvements over the first. I like the AP1K better myself but if the US doesn't get to number 3 and 4 it really won't matter in the end as eventually the UK and others by 5, 6, and 7 will

Also heard recently btw on some days you can see the steam plume of Hope Creek NJ in the other direction as well from the top of downtown skyscrapers in PHL as well.
May 25, 2025 at 2:52 AM
Limerick in Pennsylvania outside of Philly is another plant you ride up very close to as well(owned by the same company as Byron, Constellation Energy). You can actually see the steam plume at Limerick from the top floors of some of the downtown buildings in PHL.

The compact construction site thing is key thing of note both at Korean nuclear and in Barakah.
May 25, 2025 at 2:47 AM
One of the top figures involved in the construction at Byron was essentially head of construction for the UAE at Barakah and played a big role in Korean nuclear. You can see certain things in those old construction photos. Relatively compact footprint for example.
May 25, 2025 at 2:45 AM
Also repeals the moratorium on construction of new nuclear reactors.

political strategists and consultants to have this type of power. Stephen Harper and Angela Merkel are known to have thrown there weight around multiple times after leaving office but the Hogg situation seems to be instigated by James Carville who never held political office.
