Here’s a link to my conversation with ChatGPT which was very informative and cleared up many of my questions.

ChatGPT - A-Fib Monitoring with Apple Watch

My cardiologist suggested using an Apple Watch and I am now using one to monitor for A-Fib.

I had several questions surrounding the accuracy of this approach and how it compared with an ECG loop recorder.
March 14, 2025 at 8:18 AM
If you have an ECG loop recorder fitted it stays in for up-to 3 years and continuously monitors your heart.

I wasn’t keen to have one fitted for a number of reasons and given that it wasn’t even certain that I had A-Fib and I was at low risk, I wanted to explore alternative ways to monitor for it.

You can live a normal life with A-Fib but it needs managing because it can put you at a higher risk of having a stroke due to blood pooling in your heart.

Doctors assess how at risk you are based on age and a number of health and lifestyle factors.

I’m currently at the lowest level.

He told me that he couldn’t be sure if I had A-Fib or how frequent it was without further testing and suggested fitting an ECG loop recorder—a small device about the size of a usb drive that is implanted under the skin in your chest, above your heart.

Finally, he fitted me with a 2 week heart rate monitor which picked up a single episode of A-Fib. This started while I was sleeping and lasted for 7 hours.

This episode was completely asymptomatic.

I was still getting symptoms so went back to my cardiologist who got me to do a maximal exertion ECG on a treadmill which was also clear.

I was referred to a cardiologist who did an ECG, ultrasound, CT angiogram and fitted me with a continuous heart rate monitor for a week. Apart from a slight arrhythmia (my heart likes to chuck in an extra beat sometimes), which he wasn’t concerned about, everything was clear.

I’d sometimes been experiencing nausea when doing cardio exercise and at times my heart felt like it was pounding even at rest. At other times I’d get lightheaded while walking.

This is so cool. I asked ChatGPT to create a biohacking word cloud. Nice discovery.

Another little erosion of traditional SEO. The times they are a-changing!

Man, I beat myself up in the same way. I think it comes from having a grammar police teacher for a wife 😅

Thankfully mine are a bit older now but I remember these nights well and feel your pain 😩

It seems more than ever we need to take a holistic approach to SEO that goes beyond the traditional definition.
