I'm the same age, I recall my parents purchasing a 512K memory upgrade for my Amiga 500 in the early 90s so I could play prince of Persia and lotus esprit turbo challenge! It was £39!!!!!!!

Half Meg defo went in small trapdoor on bottom of the a500. Bought mine for £39.99 (I think) back in the early 90s to play lotus and PoP.
