Not sure about Boada. Matchless history but now the destination for digital nomad Yanks more interested in Instagram than a well prepped cocktail.

It was run by a father and daughter operation until a couple of years ago. The new owners appear Latin American and have hiked the prices. Still great to see it back.

Superb profile. I now find myself bizarrely ravenous for the next one. Get yourself along to Claire’s Accessories before the Deep State shuts it down.

They actually pay Rod Liddle for his thoughts.

The gaffer had an ambitious renovation scheme planned. Sounds like Polly could have been a casualty!

Have they still got the parrot?

I have to admit there is more than a soupçon of self pity and pomposity in this resignation.

A couple of weeks ago Squeeze played their first ever gig in Spain - in Barcelona.

Went down a storm.

The malaise was much deeper than Partygate.

It was Johnson’s shameless dishonesty across the board that poisoned the Tory well with no way back, particularly with the equally deceitful likes of Truss and Badenoch in charge.

Partygate was merely one manifestation of his grotesque duplicity.

Agreed. I’d loved to have seen the original. It’s a common issue with Spanish “bares autenticos”. When you find one that hasn’t been tampered with it’s cause for celebration.

Bar Casa Valles is worth checking out - dates back to 1940s and is the birthplace of the gilda. FYI it’s closed on Mondays.

I wonder if the spotty Panorama intern who edited the Trump speech has also been given the boot?

A totally unnecessary manipulation of the words of a man who doesn’t require any tinkering to reveal how appalling he is.

I can recommend the Maruja Mallo exhibition at the Reina Sofia.

Admittedly, that would mean a slight detour to Madrid.

But you must know how much we loved you from the last time!

Taken individually, all these suggestions make perfectly civilised common sense.

But taken in their entirety, the grimly pious consensus would suck the joy out of a casual drink.

I was at that Green Man gig. The complete Lilac Time set and Plant’s gorgeous reinvention of Friends were the highlights. Still idly dreaming of a Lilac Time and XTC double header!

Who in their right mind would vote any other way when presented the choice of this guy or the Reform grifter? You’ve only got to look at what’s going on in Kent to see that they are utterly incompetent in office.

The Sunday Post…and the Laurieston.

Possibly the most Scottish thing there is…

A superb piece of writing that really evokes the fragile state of play our pubs are in.

But I applaud the optimism. We’ve already got the pub infrastructure. We just need the right people to run them.

In other words, we need an army of Hazels!
