Agreed. That is why I think people are reading too much into the election. Economics matter and telling people that things were good wasn’t going to matter as that wasn’t the perception.

Is there a social issue component to it? Probably, but when people feel they are getting their pocketbook squeezed they will deal with a lot to have a chance at abetter economic position. Especially when they have lived through something before.

I really think everyone is overthinking/over analyzing this election.

I feel like the electorate general thought was “We lived through 4 years of Trump before and we can do it again. If he brings down prices, we can deal with him for another four years.”

Should Democrats be willing to look at adjusting tax credits for certain income levels? For example, if you are a couple making $390000 do you really need the child tax credit?
