A Bank Holiday in Yorkshire without rain? Seems wrong somehow but I’ll take it.

Having started the week with US paratroopers in 1944 England, it’s now back to 1914 Diksmuide and the tale of Elsie and Marie.

Heading out today with @wwiimuseum.bsky.social in the footsteps of Easy Company 506th PIR - the Band of Brothers. Always a great tour to guide - especially the pub lunch!

Time to reflect on the year. A post Christmas walk after breakfast at my favourite cafe.

My trusty emotional support seagull is on hand for my first tour of the new academic year. We’re off to Ypres for Anglia Tours with the students and staff of Gresham’s School - always a genuine pleasure.

I’m getting a not very subtle hint that it’s cold, his pond is frozen and he’d like his morning bath now. 😊

Out and about in Bury St Edmunds after a recce for an upcoming tour. Sitting here reading Appleby’s book with the sound of the cathedral choir drifting across the garden he helped create was a fitting end to an amazing couple of days on the trail of the Mighty 8th.
