Mom brain has its perks
I feel more beautiful as a mother , I have less time to look in the mirror . Everyone who looks at me does so with love and adoration. I don’t notice the fly away hairs . I feel less anxious as a mother. I have less time to think about what I said wrong, what could could go wrong, what should happen when. I am in the present moment, giving all my thought to them. I feel less scarcity as a mother . There is always more , more hands to hold . A smiling face , reminds me to appreciate what I once saw as bare .

Trying to refind my writing voice after becoming a mom has been hard
Every moment of life used to be a ritual, the way I made my coffee and took it to the same seat in the house. The way I watered my plants . Which foot stepped out. My Bathtime routine . And bed time too. Everything slow and contemplative . And then I had you. Chaos unfolds day in and day out. By the time I get a break, I can’t catch up from the shake down. I’m breathless and the house is a mess. My hair always undone. I look in the mirror, and think this face can’t be the same one. But your laughter fills me in a way I’ve never felt full. So I decided to keep going. Eventually I’ll find a foot hold

Maybe it’s a poem
My home smells of sourdough , jasmine, sweet bread Of my daughters sunshine kissed head And bad baby breath . Rotten salmon from the dog , he’s a cute but smelly beast. Touch is gentle , small hands clasping my face , large hands holding me reminding me of my place Then there’s me, holding everything I have more arms then before , no one tells you one day you may grow into a tree, branches reaching as far as you can see . It’s not a juggling , I am sturdy The good and the bad, they don’t hurt me . Not the way they used to. Stability is a hell of thing. I’ve always been a tree, the way I’d bend and not break but now my trunk doesn’t sway. So many rings, I’ve seen enough things to know just to breathe.
