A fine Dotted Border (Agriopis marginaria) moth in my Wanstead garden this morning. This is the earliest date I’ve ever seen this species.

A unit of floating reedbed set to be installed in Wanstead Park’s Heronry Lake. By the weekend, 80 of these will be in place. In time they’ll help boost the park’s population of aquatic invertebrates and - hopefully- its Reed Warblers.
