Working on a #map of modern #Arcanum that I hope to turn into a physical piece. It looks really empty right now, though. I don't think the continents are sized correctly, but I don't really know how to a make #mercator projection. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it. #drawing #sketch #concept
A simple, red-on-cream monochrome sketch of a world map, consisting of continents and large islands with minimal detail. The continents have major waterways and some mountain ranges drawn in, along with a few national borders and very simple landmarks. The map is otherwise very flat and lacks a sense of scale.

Saw an older woman sleeping on the subway with a #pikachu bag. I felt a little inspired. It is very difficult to #sketch while standing on a crowded subway train. #pokémon

I drew #Osaka Castle a little while visiting. It was a ten minute #sketch. I need to improve my speed. Also have some #photos.

We visited #Suizenji Jōjen, also in #Kumamoto, and it is very beautiful. One imagines how it must have looked in it's own era, filled with expensive plants.

It is set against a bright blue sky, making it seem a little lonely, with only the two small shrubs sprouting in its surface to keep it company. In a ridiculously roundabout method, sketches were made in graphite, digitized for refinement, and then projected onto a canvas for finalization. This was very silly and didn't work very well, but I wanted very sharp lineless art.
