I had a good day at my woodland ringing site yesterday 29 Jan.
Forty birds caught, 25 ringed including seven ‘wild’ blackbirds (ie winter visitors) 11 goldfinches and a long-tailed tit.
The six siskins caught, my first in five months, were all ringed by me at this site. Where have they been?

Visiting family in Guernsey. Saw avocet, hawfinch, GN diver, dark-bellied Brent (60+) and short-toed treecreeper. Day-total 65ssp.
