What I'm saying is, if you want to see if someone is talented enough to really show up no matter how exposed, watch Tiny Desk. If you want to see how good someone can really be when given ideal performing circumstances, watch Jools Holland. AKA watch both, they're both good. But praise Jools.

As a musician I appreciate both, when I'm the viewer. As a musician I'd love to be on either, but I'd rather be on Jools.

Jools caters to the talent. It's essentially the same except the production is focused on creating a space designed to give the bands a space where they can perform at their best. It's still very real, but its ideals are tuned to the performers rather than the viewers.

What I mean is that Tiny Desk is a show from a music enthusiast that asks talent to expose itself to the audience. The production demands it. Mistakes exist and they expose the abilities of the performer on that day exactly as they are. It's fun to watch but it caters to the audience.

It's a little bit of a selfish add, but I'm feeling selfish and in the grand scheme of selfish-ness it's not that bad considering how much of an impact he's had on the lives of so many incredible musicians.

its essentially set up for mobile but it looks worse than any other app on ipad or my phone despite being owned by one of the richest companies in the world
