Barefoot on gravel, the morning air bites,
Appalachia's hills stretch in muted light.
Pockets empty, but the spirit holds tight,
Through hollers and shadows, I chase the dawn's light

their ancient bones begin to glow.
Rivers rise, the skies embrace—
time unfolds in stone's slow grace.
Dreams of peaks in twilight's hold,
whispering tales the stars once told.
