It's a perfect sequel imo. The first game punished you for going fast. Sonic 2 allowed the player to let loose more often and achieve that signature Sonic speed.

I'm normally not pro-remake, but Xenogears could definitely benefit from a full remake to flesh out that second disc portion of the story.
