I am trying to get home from a conference in Providence so that I can try to fly to Denver on Wed. I am, so far, lucky. Just finished brunch with two colleagues who had a second flight canceled while we were eating. They are now booked for tomorrow, with flight legs added.

As I am sure you know, Schrecker, early on, said this is worse.

Such an important book. And the Ely case gets held up as a victory because it resulted in the famous "sifting and winnowing" statement, but it was not a great defense of the principle. Ely argued it on the wrong lines. He agreed he should be fired if he did what was charged, just claimed he did not.

Wow. What a fundamental violation of shared governance. It does not shock me at UNC, but it is still is bad.
