Possibly the ancestor of Layne Staley? 🤣

Some freshly gathered prairie flowers will be on the front step overnight for May Eve and is an Irish tradition associated with Beltane, the Gaelic May Day festival. 😎 ☘️ 🇮🇪

The biggest marriage age gap I've encountered in my #familytree is with my 5th great uncle, which is about 60 years. I've not yet validated her specific date of birth yet, but he was 84 and she was about 24 when they were married in 1878. They had one child born in 1882. #genealogy #ancestry

Another new book for my beyond out of control reading pile. The Celts: A Modern History by Ian Stewart. @medievalists.bsky.social

With Family Tree Maker software, you could generate relationship reports which would help find any floaters, etc. Once you do identify them, try some type of note taking methodology that would work for you. Here's an example of a simple list that I keep. 😎

This was shot at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Dallas, Texas, USA. It was shot looking out the window while going down an escalator. 😎 ✈️

Some fun with photo filters of a frozen creek a few weeks ago. 😎

This is from last week at the Crafty Irishman Public House in Dallas, Texas, USA. We agreed to leave the business outside, and enjoy the craic inside, and of course, some pints of Guinness. Sláinte! 😎 ☘️ 🇮🇪

I've kept a spreadsheet as they change over time for fun and to demonstrate how they vary. This shows the present results of four siblings side by side for Ancestry and MyHeritage. They have a paternal and maternal ancestor who was Irish, and one is painful due to surname spelling variations! 😎

Enjoyed some tasty pints of Guinness at the Crafty Irishman Public House in Dallas, Texas, USA with some business colleagues last week. Sláinte! 😎 🇮🇪 ☘️

This is the Crafty Irishman Public House in Dallas, Texas, USA from last week. When traveling on business, I habitually seek out finer #Irish pubs, and this one did not disappoint. Unfortunately, time did not permit exploring the other three pubs shown on the directional signs. Sláinte! 😎 ☘️ 🇮🇪

This is another demonstration of why I avoid participating in crowd sourced #genealogy. This is purported to be a woman who died in 1782. She is also purported to have given birth to 69 children. Another variation on Facebook claims that's her children.

This is a large wall mural in the @cisco.com office in the Old Post Office building in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The mural was a collaboration of Doc Mosher and Sentrock (Joseph Perez), who are two mural artists from Chicago. 😎

Reverse Google image search found this which looks identical. The click through is gone, but you can see the description that came with it. There was also an eBay image that looked similarly identical.

Even when you do add particulars, someone will make the error of same name syndrome, and you already know how the story goes from there. Here's what I resorted to doing for one such photo so that it flows out a a hint, etc.

Mostly in the area of what became Wolfe County. These are the unique grave "cairns" of my fourth great grandparents. 😎

How about a bit of #genealogy fun for a lazy Sunday. Share the best celebrity doppelgänger photograph from your family tree. Can you top this one of my second great grandmother? I have a copy of the photograph that the celebrity kindly signed and wrote "Thanks for a blast from my past!" 😎

Are you going to try some caligraphy? I have that chart in a PDF template, and am in process of manually populating it in Adobe Photoshop Elements. I'm about ready for my first official print at OfficeMax, which is about $35 in color. I found an inexpensive poster frame at Hobby Lobby. 😎
