It boggles my mind that he wasn't asked more job related questions, just like every other person on the planet applying for a job is asked.
What would I ask? "What was your analysis of the Houthi Bombing in October? What counsel would you give POTUS regarding next actions?"
"What should the US strategy be in Syria ?" " How would you counter Chinese aggression on the south China Sea ?"
"How would you assure civilian oversight of DOD"

It's my understanding that DOGE is not a governmental Department, which need to be created by Congress. It is a lobbying committee set up to lobby the Departments actually created by Congress. It seems that Musk doesn't play well with those that appropriate governmental funds.
