I do wish to be ungrateful. This is an average building but I love these crazy scuppers. They'll be lost under this greenwashing project, at least until it's removed when the living wall dies in a couple of years because we have laid off the maintenance staff for daft performances like this.

Lucy Raven in the Barbican Curve gallery is superb. The film is 40 minutes long. Plan on watching it in full.

RIP Terence Stamp: a most illustrious career, with a crowning role as a trans woman in a low-budget comedy that had an immense positive impact in so many lives (and was seriously funny).

What's the difference between Trump and the Hindenburg?

One is an inflated, ultimately doomed Nazi gasbag; the other was a zeppelin.

One or the other of those benches is the one with the Kirsty MacColl dedication and lyric on it. At least that's where it was when I last spotted it. Also making Soho Square woker than it was in the 50s.

Lunch today with my favourite Simpsonologist Karma Waltonen at the Boot and Flogger wine bar. The 'boot' was used to hold the wine bottle, and the 'flogger' was a mallet used to 'flog' the cork into the bottle. I will treat Karma much more gently.

I've just learned about the Nubian vault, and its use in the amazing homes of the Musgum in Chad and Cameroon. How can I have spent years in architectural education and never seen this?(Rhetorical question--I know the answer)

The Big Rock Candy Mountains were the hobo version of enduring Medieval folk utopias: mental escapes into fantasy land of plenty with lemonade springs and cigarette trees. Here's Bruegel's 1567 painting of the land of Cockaigne.

Apparently this plaque has been on the ceiling in the band room in Moscow High School (Idaho) for the last 40 years. I was the pianist for the orchestra and would lie on the floor and dream during sectional rehearsals. Marsha Folks, the orchestra teacher, put this up in my honour.

Here is Henry A. Giroux, writing in his 2nd edition of Border Crossings in 2005, the year after I left the US convinced it was descending into fascism, which is beyond dispute now.
