Been one of those kinda days, this photograph I got at lunch time on South Bank says it all, reflective. Hug everyone you love tight. Smile more than frown.

Throughout 2024 its been wonderful to see friends and family, to stay in touch, to break bread over the dinner table. share a few glasses of beer and wine, keep in touch, keep together. I hope everyone has a good new year.

After a year of study I graduated and have my golden key to the city. I cant thank enough Jon Wright my mentor who helped me follow 'the brief' and keep stories and themes concise and above all entertaining. A great London guide and one I aspire to.

This has led to one of the most rewarding things I've done which is look at new ways to earn a living and explore the things that most interest and stimulate me. So beginning of 2024 I started training as a history walking guide here in London.

Also its been marvellous to continue as a mentor with If Not Us Then Who and help some amazing creators and storytellers from around the world. Their stories and energies constantly give me a sense of promise and energy. Here's to working with them all into 2025.

2024 work wise has been a mixture of ups and downs. Been great to work alongside some dear friends and long term collaborators this year. Film has been quieter than other years but still has ticked over and been great to work on a variety of shoots in some interesting places with some lovely people.

I do love to sit at the front of a bus, always gives you such a wonderful view of the city going by, and on a day like this, gives you an appreciation of blue sky and light, a greater definition of colour

What a life it would be,
If you could come to mine for tea,
I’ll pick you up at half past three,
We’ll have lasagne.

1. Been scanning through some old photos from Malta, and came across this one, a run down Palazzo on the edge of Valletta, I used to love walking around the old back streets with the trusty camera, looking for all the lovely history that lingers in the air in places like Malta....

Saying that I did manage to tick off another legend, its a rare treat to be able to meet some of your heroes, and this occasion one sunny spring day 2024 I was able to meet an absolute icon of my youth.

It's been a funny year TV industry still really struggling many friends out of work I have been training and finding additional means. So despite it being a quiet year, it's been really busy. I have been lucky to work on a couple of beautiful projects a highlight seeing one at London Film Festival.

Our old home for three marvellous years, glorious beautiful Valletta in Malta. I think of this magical place often especially when it’s pouring with rain, the cold has finally arrived with ear aching exclusivity, and a gale is throwing the trees around like a right old bully.

I had just finished photographing the Palace the other day when the sun was bright and the air clear. I would have wandered off towards St James in search of a coffee, but lingered a little while and started to record the visitors around me. I'm glad that I did.

Sometimes you need a bit of recalibration, a little reset, and this is the place I go to for just that, the magical forest with my lovely daughter. In a way this place also feels like a much needed reboot.

Went to the wonderful Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday and watched the local women’s team derby between Tottenham and Arsenal. A bit one sided but a fabulous atmosphere. A really good turn out, lots of families and kids and old un’s. Very good hot dogs.

One of my favourite things to do is wonder through the streets of London. So I created thelondonwalker.com and have begun to curate some intriguing and enjoyable guided walks around this magnificent city. They will be going live in the New Year.

Images I like # 4 is a collection of photographs from my years travelling as a filmmaker and sound recordist, it always reminds me of what a unique place earth is, how filled it is with an abundance of beauty, warm and kind people, great food, scenery, the smell of the sea, and above else, love.

Images I like # 3 people in landscapes. Parliament hill, Hampstead Heath I saw the walker crossing the skyline towards the bench. I shot a few frames at the point where he was best backlit against the sky and this is the one I liked the most. It was very cold, the one where your ears ache.
