It is a deep-seated inferiority complex. They know they could never be taken seriously as politicians in Europe.

Unfortunately, local politics revolves around some of these community groups, so I can't really get rid of Facebook... it would hurt me politically. Twitter by comparison does not cater for localism, so was easier to leave.
