Central Bar, Gateshead. Located right at the south end of the Tyne Bridge, and looking lovely in the autumn sunshine.

In & around the Cathedral Caves, near Ambleside in Cumbria, UK. These caves and tunnels are the remnants of an old slate mine (a staple for roof and even wall material in the local houses).

Here are some lovely mushrooms.

Loads of these around at the moment. Toadstools, too.

Insightful recollection from the recently passed Robert Redford (1936-2025).

We need more of us with THIS attitude to speak up and defend those struggling to defend themselves.

Accidentally happened upon a pop-up art exhibition along the Ouseburn while walking through Newcastle the other day.

The artist is Thiago Ponsancini, who creates abstract paintings inspired by the landscape and gold mining history of his native part of Brazil. Worth checking out.

Obligatory reminder that #Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the world (although my random shots never do it anywhere near as much justice as it deserves).

Waiting for my car to be fixed, so taking shelter from the news with this new book by @jonnelledge.bsky.social - one that's been heavily recommended recently (tea & tart optional, but beneficial) #BooksSky

Just found this quote from a recent interview with Steve Cropper (one of my all-time favourite musicians) where he gives the same answer I do when asked about a 'favorite' song.

Having played a lot of covers, I find this mindset is the best way to ensure every song gets the same amount of energy.

It's always nice to work somewhere that also hosts cookery classes... I come away with a free sweet treat most weeks 😋🧁

This tree (spotted while on a walk at the weekend) is breaking my brain.

It's one tree. But it's taking root in two different places.
