A tubular steel chair of the kind you might find in a works canteen, with green vinyl padded seat and back, has been placed against a graffiti'd pebbledash factory wall. There is a window in the wall above the chair which had been boarded up, but some of the board has been broken away so the chair is a step-up to access the open window. Strong sunlight from the left casts a shadow of the chair across the wall.

1.67kg plums from our plum tree (obvs) with more to follow. These will make jam and breakfast compote.

In a wooded area a large log lies on its side. A split from one end mimics a mouth and someone has painted an eye on it so it resembles some kind of fish or animal. Leaning against the log is a bright orange and blue B&M store bag for life and a tarpaulin is abandoned in the foreground. There is other litter strewn around and about the undergrowth.

Dilapidated service shed, a place where kids would hang out to chat, smoke or take refuge from the rain.

A small stone-built shed with a flat tar roof has a makeshift porch added using scrap sheet wood and planks. There is a curved wall leading from the side of the shed forming a small yard space which is littered with rubbish and more scrap wood and broken old chairs. More of the industrial site is visible beyond as the photo is taken from the top of the wall.

Colour photo taken on expired film, so the colours are shifted to green and quite washed out. The photo is taken at ground level and shows a ginger striped cat looking at the camera, its tail is up and with scrub foliage and disused low-level industrial buildings in the background.

Discarded materials and items are fashioned into an open-air den over the head of a small stream in amongst some trees and bushes. Old sheet materials such as wood and cardboard are used to make a rough floor space, upon which is a single office chair over which a partially wrecked promotional umbrella has been suspended from a branch. Other chairs and detritus are scattered about.

The catchily-titled Operation Build A Three-Bay Compost System From As Much Reclaimed Timber As Possible is complete. Only the upright timbers, screws and the bolts you can see on the middle bay hatch are new. Should last 10 years, I hope.

In solidarity with the musicians’ launch of a silent album in protest at the UK gov’t proposal to weaken copyright in order to allow AI companies easy exploitation of copyright works, this is my ‘silent’ photo. A metaphor of where our industry is headed if copyright is watered down in this way.
