What is the purpose of the media?
November 23, 2024 at 7:50 PM
I felt the piece was clearly biased, almost like they are a puppet of government policies and spouting what they want?! How can you fight for patient safety effectively when it’s the entire system that’s misrepresenting you?

Because if I only used my brain to think about what affects me that would be quite selfish. It’s nothing to do with free loading off the state people work extremely hard for what they have got. Rich or poor they have earned it. To take 40% of what someone has worked so hard for is excessive

Please add when you get the time

That could be incredibly harmful to someone who is struggling maybe even trying to decide whether to reach out for help. Psychosis does strange things makes me question everything even reality itself. If someone you look up to guides you it can make you quite vulnerable I think

Absolutely needs change and diagnoses change. Treatment changes with it. It’s like a flowing river in my mind, keeps flowing and changing and moving forward

It takes some arrogance to try and push people into using the language you do, like a parrot! Basically telling people what they are allowed to think? Not here. This is a twitter problem, we’re not having that here!

I wouldn’t know, I’m not a millionaire and never will be. But you’re still saying it’s about accrued wealth even though there’s been no chance for that wealth to accrue. I still feel 40% of monies is excessive they are taxed higher already at point of pay, just for earning more.
November 21, 2024 at 9:16 AM
And you genuinely don’t think 40% is too high? I have worked all my life but most of my nice things have been bought very recently due to a house fire. If it’s about accrued wealth they must take into account the length of time since purchase? Seeing as I’ve paid tax on wages, VAT?
November 20, 2024 at 11:31 AM
I’m confused, here it says £325k
November 20, 2024 at 10:56 AM
Where does the million come from? I think people often do things for their family without being paid! Caring for them when they are ill sometimes chronically. Caring for the house etc where does the leeching off the state come from? The state shouldn’t inherit anything tax has already been paid
November 20, 2024 at 10:54 AM
Oh wow look at that face! Could forgive her anything!
November 20, 2024 at 9:17 AM
But 40%? It’s excessively punitive to those who are just over the threshold. Why not a slow means tested increase in the tax rate? 40% is just wow!
November 20, 2024 at 9:15 AM
Extreme breeding?? Moo!
November 19, 2024 at 8:44 PM
Absolutely you should be walking out feeling better informed on the topic not more confused!
November 19, 2024 at 8:43 PM
Sounds like they could have done with a better presentation pulling all the threads together. I like the concept of individualised care/approach it’s what MH should aim for but difficult to implement
November 19, 2024 at 7:36 PM
Actually I think of most of them like everyone else struggling to make ends meet so why shouldn’t they have to pay tax like the rest of us? If tax goes up, it goes up! And some of them are indeed millionaires. I don’t agree with inheritance tax at all I think it should be abolished or paid by all
November 19, 2024 at 8:59 AM
I guess it depends what they say?!
November 19, 2024 at 8:53 AM
So jealous! I want a heating blanket cave so much I can almost feel the heat! I, like most of us, have been struggling with the cold. My joints are really playing up. There’s not enough tramadol in the world lol

Just been declined a new mattress even though we’ve spent thousands on them over the last 4 years. So asked for a bed - declined as the mattress it comes with wouldn’t be comfortable enough. Asked for a wheelchair cushion declined as we bought the wheelchair ourselves. It never ends.

It’s been 3 years I think I would miss it if it went 😉 bit of respite would be nice though. I hope you are looking after yourself well and have loads of support around you as well as a quiet empty dark room available if needed
